Optimus Flow - What's New? | Release Notes | Current Version 1.100.1

What’s New? | Release Notes | Current Version: 1.52.22

Attention Optimus Futures community members and Optimus Flow users,

This weekend we will be launching our first update since our official launch, Version 1.52.22. This is a minor update focused around a few minor bug fixes and quality of life features.

For those of you that aren’t familiar, when we send out an update of Optimus Flow a green “update logo” will appear hovering above the Optimus Flow main menu button as shown below:

image

After you open the main menu, navigate to the bottom and click on New Version to prompt the update of the latest version.

image

Once updated, your platform will contain the newest features and improvements created by our developers.

As mentioned before, this is a minor update, but the new version is still focused around two very important features. The first change you can expect are three new order modification buttons within various order entry panels found throughout the platform. You will find these new changes on your DOM, Markt Depth, Chart - Trading Panel, and the DOM Surface.

The new order modification buttons have had their logic reconfigured and simplified from previous versions. The three buttons you will find are Flatten, Close Position, and Reverse.

  • Flatten – Cancels all working orders and flatten all positions.
  • Close Position – Flattens your positions ONLY . All working orders will remain active. If you have placed a bracket order and use this button, the legs of your bracket order will remain while your active positions will close.
  • Reverse – Reverses your position to the opposite side. If you have a long order and click reverse, you will flatten your current position and then enter a new order on the sell-side.

The preexisting buttons such as Cancel Orders, Cancel Buy, Cancel Sell, Cancel Limits, and Cancel Stops will remain the same.

Our next feature is a quality of life update. This feature will look to improve the symbol search function. Previously and by default, only a few preset contracts would load within the symbol search bar. It was possible and still is possible to access any symbol found held on the exchange within Optimus Flow, but symbols were not added until manually searched for.

image

For ease of access and to save time for our users, we have implemented a larger list of default symbols that will appear for all users. If you do not see a symbol you are looking for in these sections, you can still manually search for a symbol. For example, you can search PL and find platinum.

The symbols are:

Stock Indices

  • ES Emini SP

  • NQ Emini NASDAQ

What’s New? | Release Notes | Current Version: 1.54.1

Attention Optimus Futures community members and Optimus Flow users,

This weekend we launched our second major update since our official launch, Version 1.54.3. In update 1.54.3, we’ve added a handful of new updates ranging from new indicators, improved symbol management and upgrades to the watchlist, multiple custom trade sessions, and more.

1. Improved Symbol Directory

To kick things off and improving on updates added to our last update, Optimus Flow will look to improve on our “symbol directory”.

In previous versions, you may have noticed Futures, Options, and Spreads were grouped together. We felt that this was too cluttered, so we’ve decided to group each asset into their own dedicated section. In 1.54, you will now notice spreads will also have their own section listed under Calendar Spreads to make finding Futures Symbols that much easier.

image

2. Multiple custom trade sessions.

This will allow users to set the time ranges for trading sessions, within which volume profiles, VWAP, TPO Charts will work. As you can see in the example below, we have created two custom sessions. One for RTH and one for the overnight session. You can access this feature by Right clicking on a Chart > View > Custom Sessions.

image

3. Last Bid/Ask Trades in the DOM Trader.

We have now added Last Bid/Ask Trades in the DOM Trader. These panels show and represent buy and sell market orders. You will see the two new columns on the right hand side of the DOM Trader In the GIF below:

recent-bid_ask

4. Dynamic VPOC indicator.

A new indicator has been added, Dynamic VPOC indicator. POC known as Point of Control is the price with the maximum traded volume for the specified time period. At this price, as well as near it, large traders and institutions accumulated their positions and it serves as a very strong reference point for all market participants. Price usually makes quite strong reactions to POC levels.

Dynamic Volume POC indicator shows the change of POC price during the whole trading day. The starting point for calculating the indicator is set from the beginning of the trading day, and the calculation starts again on the next trading day.

Besides the main POC line, the indicator shows the dynamics of the Value Area, which is a range of prices where the majority of trading volume took place. Value Area is set at 70% by default.

5. Multiple connections in the History Player and Trading Simulator panels

Now in the History Player and Trading Simulator panels, you can add symbols from different connections for testing or for demo trading on real-time data. For example, you can conduct backtesting in History Player with EURUSD forex pair from OANDA, and 6E euro futures from Rithmic.

6. Updates to TPO Charts

  • New view for TPO Initial Balance

Added a new view for TPO Initial balance in the form of a Bar near the profile. In the profile settings, you can set the view for initial balance as a Bar or as Area. By default, it set in the form of Area (filled letters).

tpo-initial-balance

  • Improved TPO price scale

Changed the behavior of auto-scaling for price scale when the depth of history is changed.

7. New options for Export data

In addition to the existing Export options, we have added the possibility to specify the separator type and time zone.

8. Total row in the Market Depth panel

This Row shows the total values of all Bids and Asks. This allows you to estimate the prevailing buyers or sellers. Please see below:

9. Additional Features, Updates, and Bugfixes

  • Fixed bugs with Custom VWAP tool.
  • Resolved minor bugs for Dynamic VPOC indicator.
  • Resolved minor bugs for Custom Profile.
  • Speed up data loading for the Volume Impact indicator.
  • Fixed issues of loading history for OANDA.
  • Stability improvements.
  • Minor Bug Fixes.

We hope you enjoy this update and we look forward to any feedback you can provide us with about it. If you have any suggestions, comments, questions, or concerns about this update or features you’d like added in the future, please let us know!

Thanks for your time,
Jake

Introducing the New P/L Alerts Feature on Optimus Flow

Attention Optimus Futures community members and Optimus Flow users:

Risk management is a key aspect of futures trading and part of that management is to minimize your daily losses. Losses are part of the trading business and it is essential to integrate them into your trading plan. No one likes to lose, but one of the biggest reasons many futures traders don’t make it is because they have unsuccessfully managed to turn what could have been a small loss into a career-ending trade.

A big misconception among beginner traders is that they think they can turn every losing trade into a winning trade. But that’s not how proper risk/reward and cash management works. Sometimes you must accept that not all your decisions will be good and cut your losses and move on.

The same logic applies to profits. You should consider stopping your trading for the day if you reach your daily profit target and simply observe the market for the remainder of the session. This may potentially help you learn the discipline that many traders often don’t exhibit.

In order to help traders learn and acquire these positive traits, we have added a New P/L Alerts Feature free of charge to Optimus Flow. Please see below for details.

Here is an image and the steps on how set daily alert targets within Optimus Flow:

  1. Left click the General Settings Icon at the top of Optimus Flow.
  2. Navigate to P/L alerts within General Settings
  3. Click the + icon to add a new P/L alert
  4. Choose your Futures Symbol, Positive or Negative P/L, and the dollar amount you would like your P/L alert set to.
  5. Once configured “Enable or Disable” your alert by clicking the “ On/Off Switch ”.
  6. Finally, click the Apply Changes button to save your progress and enable your designated alerts. Once changes are applied and your alert is enabled, the next time your account’s P/L meets the criteria of your alert you will be notified and have the option of flattening your position

Here is an example of an alert that would occur if your target has been reached:

image 2

If you click the Flatten button , your positions would be liquidated for that specific Futures symbol you have chosen in the configuration screen and cancel all outstanding orders for the Futures contract. It will not affect any other futures symbols you did not set up an alert for.

You can change your targets daily based on volatility, your trading capital, or any method that you think would help you preserve your trading capital. As a day trader, we suggest that you reset your targets daily. You should set them after you have finished trading and analyzed your current alerts and the state of the markets. Then prepare your objectives for the next session.

We hope you enjoy the new P/L Alerts and we look forward to any feedback you can provide. If you have any suggestions, comments, questions, or concerns about this update or other features you want us to add in the future, please let us know!

Thanks for your time,
Jake

What’s New? | Release Notes | Current Version: 1.67.2

Attention Optimus Futures community members and Optimus Flow users,

As of last week, we have launched our latest major update, Version 1.67.2. This update was focused on improvements towards the download speed of historical and tick data, the use of R Trader Pro’s plugin feature, DOM improvements, trailing orders, Option Analytic upgrades, quality of life improvements, and bug fixes.

R Trader Pro Plugin for Concurrent Connections

Several updates ago we added the ability to use R Trader Pro’s “plugin feature” which allows traders the ability to login to multiple trading platforms through Rithmic concurrently.

First, please see this video we have created on the topic and what needs to be done on R Trader Pro’s end:

Once everything is configured properly through R Trader, follow these steps on Optimus Flow:

  1. Open My Connections
  2. Open Connect Settings
  3. Enable Use R Trader

image

Once enabled and as long as everything is configured properly through R Trader Pro using the guide above, this will allow traders the ability to use both platforms at the same time!

Aggregated Quotes

Also found in the Connection Settings in the image above, we have also added the ability configure Aggregated Quotes.

image

Aggregated quotes is a good option for those traders with sub-optimal internet speeds. Enabling this option will improve historical data download and stream quotes much more efficiently without downloading as much data, resulting in a much more stable enviroment for these users.

Trailing Stops

We have now added trailing orders to Optimus Flow! You will find these orders currently under the OE - Order Entry panel, DOM - Depth of Market, or MD - Market Depth.

Trailing Stops will change the stop-loss level behind the price when it goes into the profit zone. If the price goes to the stop-loss, it will remain at its level.

As you can see in the screenshot below, we have added a new symbol next to the Stop loss leg of bracket orders. Clicking on this icon will enabling trailing stops.

For those traders that would like to have their entry orders placed as a trailing stop, you will find our newest order type under Order Entry as shown below:

Aggregated trades in Time & Sales panel

New mode for data flow analysis in T&S panel — Aggregate Trades . This mode summarizes all trades that have filled at one price, time and side.

This new mode in Time & Sales panel, also known as Reconstructed Tape , allows tracking large traders, by summing up trades that match in price, direction and time. For example, if at the price of 2998 single trades were executed at the same time (00:664) and direction (Sell), all trades are summed up.

By setting the additional Time Delay parameter, trades will continue to aggregate at different times, but with the same price and direction.

By adding various conditions for coloring or filtering rows via the Setup Actions menu, you will see only the desired values.

Accelerated Volume analysis data loading and Tick charts for Rithmic

We have changed the mechanism of loading volume analysis and as a result, the loading time has been reduced by more than 10 times. We are sure that this is an excellent result that will allow futures traders to use volume analysis tools efficiently and quickly.

Another improvement for Rithmic is the faster loading of tick charts. For example, when opening the most popular charts of 2000 ticks or 1000 ticks for ES futures, traders had to wait for a long time until the chart was fully loaded. According to the new scheme, the chart is loaded as fast as a regular time-based chart.

New columns for Option Analytics panel

Several new columns and settings have been added to the panel, which will expand the analysis not only of options strategies but also of the underlying asset.

  • Put/Call ratio based on Open Interest . It’s a well-known ratio that shows the excess of put or call options. The higher the ratio, the more negative the directional bias is for the underlying asset. For Call/Put ration is opposite, the lower value, the more negative bias.
  • Put/Call ratio based on Volume .
  • OV ratio is an Open Interest/Volume of options.
  • Added two new settings called Highlight Max OI and Highlight Max Volume . If the settings are enabled, the cells with the maximum Open Interest and Volume value are highlighted in the table.
  • Added linking of Option Analytics panel. With this setting, a trader can combine the chart with the options desk, and see how the price of a particular strike has changed.

new-columns-options

Bug Fixes & Quality of Life Improvements

  • Fixed issues with Left and Right Volume profile.
  • Resolved bugs with volume profile in DOM Trader panel.
  • Hide the data out of Custom trade session. This setting hides / shows trade history on the chart that goes beyond a Custom session.
  • DOM Trader improvements. Added a tooltip that shows the size of the order that trader is going to place.
  • Accelerated Volume analysis data loading for Rithmic. Changed the mechanism of loading volume analysis for futures (Rithmic connection). As a result, loading time has been reduced by more than 10 times.
  • Fixed issue of Rithmic connection through RTrader plugin.
  • Fixed bugs of Bracket orders for Rithmic connection.
  • [Rithmic] Increased speed of downloading history for tick based timeframes (33ticks, 2000ticks, etc).
  • [Options analytics] Added link by color option.
  • [Rithmic] Solved the problem with real-time calculation of Left/Right volume profiles (15 mins, 30 mins, 1 hour).
  • Fixed the problem of copying selected drawing tools in the chart.
  • Fixed the problem of saving drawing tools on the chart.
  • [Rithmic] Resolved the problem with the delay in placing and canceling orders.
  • [Rithmic] Fixed the issue of canceling the connection process.
  • Increased the speed of Order placing via DOM Trader.
  • Drawings don’t save during closing the platform.
  • DOM Trader did not load Buy/Sell columns from templates.
  • Drawing tools didn’t save after the update.

That just about wraps it for update 1.67.2! If you have any suggestions, comments, questions, or concerns about this update or other features you want us to add in the future, please let us know!

Thanks for your time,
Jake

What’s New? | Release Notes | Current Version: 1.73.1

Attention Optimus Futures community members and Optimus Flow users,

Your evolution as a trader is essential for us. We want to evolve our trading software, Optimus Flow, to help you execute your trades faster, more efficiently, and keep your risk management intact.

As of last weekend, we have launched our latest update, Version 1.73.1. This update added two new, highly request features. The first feature we will discuss is Keyboard hotkey trading for Charts and TPO. We have also added another feature that we will discuss below.

Keyboard Short Cuts and Hotkey Trading : Imagine automating ANY combination of letters or numbers on your keyboard to swiftly perform the action you want it to do.

Use the B for a Buy, S for a Sell, and X to cancel your order. Imagine the critical seconds you can save by automating the entire process.

You will find Keyboard Shortcuts and their configurable settings found in the settings menu of your charts as shown below:

Please keep in mind the hotkeys found above can be entirely customized. Simply click on the field to the right of the command, press the associated button on your keyboard you’d like the command to be programmed to, and then save!

You will find settings for general use, drawing tools, customization, and order entry. Once configured and your hotkeys are adjusted to your liking, you can enable this feature by left clicking the new “hotkey trading icon” found in the top right of your chart. Once enabled, you will receive a confirmation highlighted in yellow text that the feature has been enabled:

Watch the video for this new feature here:

Keyboard Short Cuts are currently available on the Day Trader Version of Optimus Flow for all funded traders.

Trading futures and options involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. The risk of loss in trading commodity interests can be substantial. You should therefore carefully consider whether such trading is suitable for you in light of your financial condition. The placement of contingent orders by you or broker, or trading advisor, such as a “stop-loss” or “stop-limit” order, will not necessarily limit your losses to the intended amounts, since market conditions may make it impossible to execute such orders.

What’s New? | Release Notes | Current Version: 1.73.1 | Continued…

As mentioned above, in our two part update we have also added a great new feature for risk management purposes. We call this new feature the End of Bar Order (EBO) Placement tool and it can also be found on charts!

End of Bar Order (EBO) Placement : Many of us are very impatient as traders, and we often want to trade because …well…FOMO. No More!

Now you have a tool that would allow you to wait until the bar closes, and then you can open or close your trade. You can also buy the high of a bar, low of the bar, and you can use limit, market, or stops orders. EBO is an excellent tool (in our opinion) for those who want to develop a discipline in trading and trade ONLY when the market verifies the validity of your setup.

You can enable this new feature by left clicking on the “calendar icon” in the top right of your chart. Once enabled, the EBO tool will populate on your screen as shown below:

Please see below for the configurable options and settings for this new feature:

Once your settings have been configured, simply just click the Activate switch in order to enable this feature! Feel free to track when new candles will open and close by watching our countdown timer in the bottom right of your charts:

Watch the tutorial video here:

The End of Bar Order Placement Tool is currently only available in the All in One version of Optimus Flow.

Attention Optimus Futures community members and Optimus Flow users, we are pleased to announce that Optimus Flow now has the ability to place bracket orders through chart order entry!

In order to access this new feature, users will need to enable the Quick Trading Toolbar feature located in the top right corner of their chart window as shown below:

Once shown, users will notice a similar order entry window to what the Optimus Flow DOM currently has. In order to place a bracket order users can configure the SL or TP boxes as shown below, set their tick offset, and once configured the next order place will automatically be grouped as a bracket (oco) order.

For a video walkthrough and in-depth explanation of how to configure bracket orders through chart trading on Optimus Flow, please see the video below:

Hi @Kickinit,

I just wanted to follow up on your issue. We have not seen this before and our developers have asked for further details.

Is this still continuing to happen for you? Does the rest of the platform function properly and is everything else stable? Or is only the update screen causing issues?

Please let me know!
Thanks,

Hi @Mod-JakeM. After reading your post I went to check Parallels Network configuration and it was set to Default Adapter and should have been Shared Network. After changing the network setting to Shared Network and restarting Windows and OF, the update worked. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for your help.

What’s New? | Release Notes | Current Version: 1.96.1

Attention Optimus Futures community members and Optimus Flow users,

As of last night, we have launched our latest major update, Version: 1.96.1. This update has added breakeven stop loss orders, drawing synchronization, further DOM customization, automated order entry in the form of scheduled and time split orders, bugfixes and more.

Breakeven Stop Loss Orders

Users can now place a breakeven stop order. Replace or set a stop order for an open position to Breakeven with one click. When you click the button, all orders will be cancelled and stop order will be set to the position’s open price.

With this new addition, we’ve Added Breakeven to the list of trading hotkeys in the Chart, TPO Chart, DOM Trader, DOM Surface panels.

Drawing Synchronization

This new addition allows for synchronization between different charts with the same symbol. For example, if you enable this feature and draw a trend line on a chart for the ES any other chart with the ES symbol applied will also draw this trend line in the same exact location regardless of the chart type or aggregation settings.

In order to enable this feature, go to chart panel settings and set ‘Drawings default availability’ to ‘All chart with same symbol’.

For any users with existing drawings who would like this feature enabled, open a context menu of any drawing. Set ‘Availability’ to ‘All charts with same symbol’.

FullScreen Mode

Added the FullScreen Mode with the ability to manage the functionality of the panel without limitations — trading operations, adding indicators and drawing tools. Use hotkey or button on header of the panel to activate Fullscreen mode.

Trading Account Privacy

Keep the trading account privacy during screen sharing by using a new general setting — Hide Account name.

DOM Customization

  • With the latest version of Optimus Flow, you can make even more customizations of the DOM Trader panel, based on our community feedback:

  • · Highlighting Imbalance, Bid/Ask values — go to DOM trader panel settings → Columns → Imbalance and set filter for Bid/Ask or for Total value.

  • · Highlighting total values for Imbalance

  • · Reduce the price value by hiding the required number of digits

  • · Possibility to specify custom colors for any columns — go to the panel settings and specify colors for background, text, positive/negative value, etc.

  • · Possibility to specify a custom font for each column, total values, header.

  • · Possibility to adjust text alignment in columns

  • · Customization of visibility for all columns.

  • · New coloring schemes for Bid/Ask columns — now you can select Solid coloring mode for rows or you can disable any coloring here by selecting None mode.

  • · Possibility to adjust histogram alignment in Bid/Ask columns

In this version, we have also improved trading through the panel:

  • · Mouse-down trading. Reduced the time for placing orders through the panel. Instead of a full mouse click, orders are placed by the mouse down action.
  • · Trading via Bid/Ask. Placing orders through the Bid / Ask columns. Further management of existing orders is performed through the Buy / Sell columns.
  • · Refresh rate. Added the ability to control the rate (ms) of market data update. This determines how often the panel refresh changes in depth of market (depends on data provider). With a value of 1, all changes to the level2 data will be processed immediately. We recommend using value 100. Note, the smaller the value, the more system resources required.

Automated Orders

Users now have the ability to use order placing strategies that can implement advanced trading algorithms such as splitting order by time or volume, Iceberg, local SL/TP, Traling, etc. In near future we will add more predefined strategies as well as provide a possibility to create your own.

  • · Order placing strategy “Scheduled” This strategy will send your order at a specified time.

  • · Order placing strategy “Time Split” This strategy will divide the size of your order on equal parts and send them in a few steps according to specified Display Quantity and via selected time Interval.

Example of Scheduled Orders:

What’s New? | Release Notes | Current Version: 1.100.1

Optimus Flow has recently been updated to the latest major update, Version: 1.100.1. Over the past several weeks we have updated the platform to provide additional support for the CQG data feed, chart upgrades, general fixes, and more.

[CQG] Multi-bracket orders support in Order Entry, DOM and Chart panel.

image

As shown in the screenshot above, using the CQG data feed through Optimus Flow now provides the ability for users to create bracket orders with multiple levels, directly from order entry. This can be configured through all order entry panels.

[CQG] Multi-bracket structure can be saved in Order parameters template.

Following up on the newly added feature above, users also have the ability to save their multi-bracket configuration as an Order Template, conveniently allowing users to load previously configured bracket orders with a single click.

Ticker Tape available on the Main Toolbar of Optimus Flow

Users now have the option of enabling a Classic Ticker Tape on the main toolbar. It shows current prices and changes for selected symbols.

To activate it use Main Toolbar context menu->View->Ticker Tape.

Example:

TPO Chart Updates

Users now have the ability to to customize alignment and width for Volume Analysis profile on TPO Chart as shown in the image below:

Chart Updates

Users now have the ability to Hide/Show All Objects/Drawings/Indicators/Overlays available on Drawings toolbar.

Reversal Charts have now been added. You can find this in the “aggregation menu” of your chart:

HeatMap Upgrades

The Optimus Flow Heatmap has now been upgraded to allow users to filter by history. Previously, the Heatmap only had the ability to display the current day’s data. Now users can filter by a historical date to see how a particular market or product was affected on that day.

As shown in the image below, users can now click a drop-down menu to filter by current or historical dates. When history is selected, users can select which day’s data they would like to display on their Heatmap:

The risk of loss in trading commodity interests can be substantial. You should, therefore, carefully consider whether such trading is suitable for you in light of your financial condition. The placement of contingent orders by you or broker, or trading advisor, such as a “stop-loss” or “stop-limit” order, will not necessarily limit your losses to the intended amounts, since market conditions may make it impossible to execute such orders. Stop Orders are Market Orders.

What’s New? | Release Notes | Current Version: 1.105.2

Attention Optimus Futures community members and Optimus Flow users,

Optimus Flow has recently been updated to the latest update, Version: 1.105.2. Over the past two months, we’ve added and updated several different indicators, improved PNL info, simplified trading panels, and more.

Strategy Manager

A new panel, that provides more convenient control of multiple instances of your strategies, including: copying strategy settings, saving / applying templates and defining defaults.

The strategy manager can also be utilized with our newly added “automated order strategies” such as time split, scheduled, and market if touched orders.

Daily OHLC Indicator

[Indicator] Daily OHLC indicator displays OHLC for current and previous days.

  • [Daily OHLC indicator] Added possibility to use data from previous days.
  • [Daily OHLC indicator] Added possibility to extend lines.

See configurable settings for the new Daily OHLC Indicator below:

Divergence Detector indicator

The new divergence detector indicator can help potentially identify divergences using “bear or bull” markings on your charts, calculated on RSI and MACD.

Rithmic Delayed Data

We have now added a free, delayed data connection via the Rithmic data feed. This data feed will automatically connect for first time Optimus Flow users to provide them with data immediately upon platform opening.

For users with a live trading account or demo account with live data, feel free to disconnect the Rithmic Delayed connection and replace it with your real or demo credentials. You can register for an Optimus Flow demo via the link at the bottom of this thread.

Improved TRADES Panel

  • [Local cache for trades] Added local cache for Trades for CQG and Rithmic connections. All trades that will be made using the platform will be saved in the local database and will be available in the Trades panel.
