Does anyone actually stop trading after hitting their daily profit target? I've been wondering about this lately

A lot of trading advice says you should have both a daily loss limit and a daily profit target. The loss limit makes sense to me, but I’m curious about the profit side.

Let’s say you hit your goal within the first hour or two.

Do you actually close the platform and call it a day?

Or do you keep trading if the market still looks good?

I feel like this is one of those things that’s easy to say but much harder to follow in real life. More than once I’ve had a good morning, thought “one more trade won’t hurt,” and ended up giving back a chunk of the gains.

I’m curious how experienced futures traders handle this.

Do you stop once you’ve reached your target, or do you keep trading if you still see quality setups?
