Order bracket handling in Multicharts

Does Multicharts issue order brackets that are both active at the same time in the market? So if my strategy has a profit limit and a stop order active at the same time, are both orders ALWAYS active in the market until one or the other is filled? This fact is a major issue with the Tradestation strategy engine which does not place both orders simultaneously but rather uses an algorithm to determine which order it should have active at any one time. Volatile markets result in many unnecessary loses due to this shortcoming. If this capability is not present in the native Multicharts platform, is there a way that this functionality can be coded into a strategy?
Thanks
Clifford.

Hi @CliffordR,

Thanks for your question and welcome to the community forum!

We are currently investigating this with MultiCharts support.

As of right now, both orders of your bracket (both limit and stop) will be sent directly to the broker. This should be the case for both EasyLanguage automated strategies as well as discretionary trading.

From what we gathered at this time, this should be possible to accomplish via the Rithmic API. That being said, we are still investigating whether or not this is possible with other data feeds as well as other APIs.

Thanks for your patience. We will continue to look into this for you to find a suitable method for your needs.

Thanks,
Jake
