Period setting on fractal indicator

I am wondering what the “period” in the settings for the fractal indicator changes. I assumed it was the number of bars it used to define the fractal with 5 being the most common. However, it doesn’t appear to work that way when I look to see what fractals appear with a different setting. In addition, if it did work that’s way, what would an even number indicate since that would imply an odd number of bars on either side of the middle bar?

Hi @aaronwexler,

The “period” setting for the fractal indicator in Optimus Flow is set in bars. It determines how many bars are included in the calculations on each side (left and right) of the identified fractal.

For example, if the period setting is set to 2, then the fractal consists of 5 bars total, because there are 2 bars each on the left and right of the plotted fractal.
