Sharing objects with multiple charts and default colors

I see you can use templates to put objects and such from one chart to another. This creates the option to copy everything from one chart to another. But what if I only want drawings to exist on another chart. For example I have a shorter time frame chart for order entry and I want my support and resistance levels from my main chart but I don’t want to change the time frame or bring over the indicators, only the drawings. Is this possible?

Secondly, is there a way to change the default color of a drawing object so that you don’t have to change it every time you put it on the chart?

Thanks

Hi @aaronwexler,

Thanks for your question and welcome to the community forum!

  1. The best way to have your drawings to be copied from one chart to another is to configure the Drawing’s Default availability option within your chart settings to “All chart with same symbol”.

With this setting configured, regardless of the time frame on your chart, when you plot a drawing tool on one chart, it will automatically be placed on any other charts open with the same futures symbol applied.

To configure this, right click your chart > Settings > Drawing’s Default availability > All chart with same symbol:

Apply this setting to any charts that share the same symbol where you would like for your drawing tools to be copied from one to the other.

  1. Yes there is. Once you plot drawing tool on your chart, click the settings icon as shown here:

Click the settings icon > change your color > and then click the save icon in the bottom left of the settings window. This will permanently save any changes you’ve made in this window as the new default for that specific drawing tool, including the colors.

I hope this helps,
Jake
