When using Sierra Chart, how does one go about placing a buy limit order? Also how would I change the number of contracts I’m purchasing?

The first thing you need to do is to make sure the Trade DOM is on. On the upper left side there will be a small box that tells you the market price. All you need to do is right click on the chart and select the “Buy Limit” option. An order confirmation box should appear with all of the relevant information about the buy. After checking that the details are correct, click “Yes”. The new order will appear on the chart and it can easily be moved up or down along the price scale.

Another option is to use the Trade Window. Select Trade->Attach Trade Window To Chart. You can also setup attached orders from there.
