Choosing Chart Indicators

Good afternoon - In setting up a basic chart for day trading, what would be some good indicators to start with? I would be trading the mini Nikkei 225. Thanks - Ken

If you want to trade the Nikkei 225 mini, please make sure that you send us an email to support to enable this data feed.

We would prefer not to use the term best because you will find that many of the Futures day traders put significance on different indicators they use. Some use the traditional technical analysis indicators, some have programmed their own while some do not use any indicator for trading ( or at least what they consider a conventional indicator).

Here is something we want to help with, it is not an indicator list, but something we think may add to a futures day trader’s discipline.

Also, we think it is essential to understand the fluctuations in your account. http://optimusfutures.com/tradeblog/archives/why-do-drawdowns-exist-and-how-to-deal-with-them-efficiently/

Since you are a part-time trader as you indicated in this thread, I thought you would like to read this as well.

Lastly, under each article at the bottom, you will find related articles. They could be of use as well.

There is a substantial risk of loss in futures trading. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

This is great information, thanks Matt.
